Fair Game
They say opposites attract. And in the case of werewolves Anna Latham and Charles Cornick, they mate. The son-and enforcer-of the leader of the North American werewolves, Charles is a dominant alpha. While Anna, an omega, has the rare ability to calm others of her kind.
Now that the werewolves have revealed themselves to humans, they can't afford any bad publicity. Infractions that could have been overlooked in the past must now be punished, and the strain of doing his father's dirty work is taking a toll on Charles.
Nevertheless, Charles and Anna are sent to Boston, when the FBI requests the pack's help on a local serial killer case. They quickly realize that not only the last two victims were werewolves-all of them were. Someone is targeting their kind. And now Anna and Charles have put themselves right in the killer's sights...
I've been waiting for another Alpha and Omega novel for a while now. I just love Charles and Brother Wolf :) but then again Patricia Briggs definitely holds the throne for my favorite werewolf world. There's something that I just love about the alpha's in this world and the women who hold shit down. Anna didn't disappoint. I love how she's strong, yet vulnerable just as Charles can be when it comes to her.
The serial killer fed to my own obsession with real crime TV, lol. I guess Anna and I have more in common than our love for Charles ;) The ending of the book? AWESOME. Can not wait how Patricia goes about with this world and its ever changing dynamics!

Fifty Shades of Grey
When literature student Anastasia Steele is drafted to interview the successful young entrepreneur Christian Grey for her campus magazine, she finds him attractive, enigmatic and intimidating. Convinced their meeting went badly, she tries to put Grey out of her mind - until he happens to turn up at the out-of-town hardware store where she works part-time.
The unworldly, innocent Ana is shocked to realize she wants this man, and when he warns her to keep her distance it only makes her more desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her - but on his own terms.
Shocked yet thrilled by Grey's singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success – his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving adoptive family – Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a passionate, physical and daring affair, Ana learns more about her own dark desires, as well as the Christian Grey hidden away from public scrutiny.
Can their relationship transcend physical passion? Will Ana find it in herself to submit to the self-indulgent Master? And if she does, will she still love what she finds?
Ok. I didn't exactly fall in the wagon that most women have fallen in with Mr. Grey. I read the first two books because so many of the members in my book club were reading it and raving and that's what book clubs do, right? We share books. So I gave it a try and I'll be honest. This book bothered me. There was something off about it. I understand it's basically BDSM fanfiction, but I couldn't get over that weird feeling I was getting while reading it.
I really disliked Ana. Maybe it was her innocence that made me want to scream at Christian to really show her what he's all about so she could snap out of her shit and run with her tail between her legs (wait... Anna with the extra n is the wolf...). Her subconscious and her goddess pissed me off, I felt like I was reading a book on two fucked up people who liked to fuck each other. The ending pissed me off and I needed to read the second because I wanted to know what was going to happen.
Fifty Shades Darker
Daunted by the singular sexual tastes and dark secrets of the beautiful, tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele has broken off their relationship to start a new career with a Seattle publishing house.
But desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist. They rekindle their searing sensual affair, and Anastasia learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven and demanding Fifty Shades.
While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her, and make the most important decision of her life.
This book... now this book is what made me actually like Christian. His vulnerability and how fucked up he is but his need for love and acceptance won me over. Ana? No, still don't like her. There are so many things I preferred in this book over the first, but I still can't understand the hype. Sure, the sex is fun to read but so are the scenes from plenty of other more interesting books. This book however, seemed to actually have more of a plot than a string of sex scenes with some in between scenes like the first. I dunno. So many of my friends are so obsessed with the trilogy and I just can't get into the hype like they are.
I have a strong opinion that it's mainly because most of the women reading the books have boring sex lives (or no sex lives) and so they're living vicariously through their dear Fifty. As for the third book, I tried reading it... then I gave in and read Fair Game, lol. I'll finish it eventually.
